Things Worth Sharing

...Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.
2 Timothy 1:12

I love this verse. I've clung to it several times in the past few days as I begin to feel anxious about my job and whether or not I will get to stay at my same school and keep my same schedule next year. My favorite is the last half. I've chosen to believe a God that is mighty, powerful and able to accomplish more than I can even fathom. What a comfort to know that I can leave everything in His hands at any time. But then there is this little quote that jumped out at me from last week's Shirer's Discerning the Voice of God.
"If you told God on your knees that you had reached an impasse and...were handing it over to Him, then leave it with Him. Do not go to the first Christian you meet and say, "You know I have an awful problem; I don't know what to do." Don't discuss it. Leave it with God, and go on the watch-tower." - D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones

What a great reminder to me. How often do I "pray" about something and then am so quick to take it back from God and begin talking to all of my friends about it? I'm not saying it's bad to discuss problems with friends, but sometimes it does cause me to take my problems back from God. Instead of watching and waiting for His answer, I take them back and make them mine again. I don't want that to be a characteristic of my life. I want to be found waiting patiently for God to speak to me about my problem.

I hope these two little nuggets speak to your heart as they have mine.

Hi, I go to the Bridge and noticed that we both pretty much comment on the same blogs. Anyways, I just stopped by and this really spoke to me. Just yesterday my job share partner called to say that my principal was acting funny about our work situation next year. I was so anxious about it...then I prayed about it, knowing that if I couldn't job-share, it was God's will for me to stay home. I know that God has a perfect plan for my situation and your words (with His) reminded me to trust that perfect plan. THANKS!

Thanks for sharing Eliza, what a powerful reminder! We serve an awesome God and sometimes I even forget that amidst everything going on...and we've seen so many miracles and blessings firsthand. I'm glad we're on His side!

I appreciate your words. I was telling a friend, this morning, about what you wrote and how I am working on giving it to God and not taking it back...whatever it may be. You name it. :)

Great post, Liz! It's something I need to remind myself of, too. Can I just say that I'm really bummed that I didn't get to see you and love on MO on my nan-second trip to Bako last week?? I'm thankful for blogs and pictures right about now!
